APPENDIX A
TEST METHOD 4
TAMPER SWITCH TOLERANCE TEST
1.
TEST APPARATUS:
a.
Ohmmeter - Accuracy 3 percent.
b. Test covers - Covers with hole for meter lead access, for processor
and receiver.
2.
TEST PROCEDURE:
2.1
Processor.
a.
Connect an ohmmeter across processor tamper terminals TB1-5 and
TB1-6.
b. Place the test cover on the processor. The resistance across the
tamper terminals TB1-5 and TB1-6 shall be less than 10 ohms.
c. Raise the cover of the processor more than .062 inch but less than
.250 inch (flanges shall be engaged). The resistance between TB1-5 and TB1-6
shall increase to greater than 100K ohms.
d. The resistance between TB1-5 and TB1-6 shall be greater than 100K
ohms when the cover is removed.
e. Pull the tamper switch fully out and lock. The resistance between
TB1-5 and TB1-6 shall decrease to less than 10 ohms.
2.2
Receiver.
a.
Connect an ohmmeter across receiver tamper terminals TB1-5 and TB1-6.
b. Place the test cover on the receiver. The resistance across the
tamper terminals TB1-5 and TB1-6 shall be less than 10 ohms.
c. Raise the cover on the receiver more than .062 inch but less than
.250 inch (flanges shall be engaged). The resistance across TB1-5 and TB1-6
shall increase to greater than 100k ohms.
d. The resistance between TB1-5 and TB1-6 shall be greater than 100k
ohms when the cover is removed.
e. Pull the tamper switch fully out and lock. The resistance between
TB1-5 and TB1-6 shall decrease to less than 10 ohms.
