6. NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that
may be helpful, but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use. The monitor cabinet is intended for use as the alarm and
status display component of the Joint-Services Interior Intrusion Detection
System (J-SIIDS).
6.2 Acquisition requirements.
Acquisition documents must specify the
following:
a.
Title, number, and date of this specification.
b.
Issue of DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the
specific issue of individual documents referenced (see 2.2.1 and
2.3).
c.
Nomenclature and quantity of item(s) to be furnished (see 1.2, 3.1
and 3.1.1).
d.
Technical Data Package List(s), including revision level, to which
each item being furnished (by contractor) is to be built.
e.
When a first article is required for inspection and approval, the
number of units required, and the allocation of required units to
environmental and reliability tests respectively, if other than
specified (see 3.2, 4.2.2.1, and 4.2.2.2).
g.
When Government-loaned property is not required (see 3.10).
h.
Schedule, content, and format of burn-in test reports (see 4.4.2.4).
i.
Packaging requirements (see 5.1).
6.3 Definitions.
The following definitions apply throughout this
specification.
6.3.1 False alarm. An alarm generated by stimuli other than those for
which the test item is designed to alarm.
6.3.2 Damage. Damage is defined as deformation, corrosion, loosening of
parts, breakage, or change of fit of any components; physical change which
impairs the mechanical integrity of the monitor cabinets; evidence of
delamination or water penetration into integrated circuits, printed circuit
boards, or external components, or physical condition resulting in
noncompliance of the item with the provisions of this specification.
6.3.3 Quality assurance provisions (QAP). A QAP is a contractual
requirement that supplements section 4 of the specification. A QAP indicates
the minimum requirements which must be inspected on the product drawings to
verify the objectives of the product and assure interchangeability of the
repair parts.
6.4 Provisioning. The contracting officer should include provisioning
requirements for repair parts and maintenance tools as necessary (including
any special tools), and instructions regarding shipment of the end items.
6.5 Government-loaned property. The contracting officer should arrange to
lend the property specified in 3.10 when applicable (see 6.2).

6.7 Quality assurance provisions (QAP) records. The contracting officer
should include a clause requiring the contractor to maintain complete records
of all examinations and tests performed to verify the requirements of
